NP3 is able to achieve these goals by:

  • Providing students with rigorous programs of study including an emphasis on the law, public policy, and current societal issues,
  • Ensuring students remain committed to learning through the use of relevant, real world experience, emphasizing the need for an education, and
  • Providing students with a comprehensive guidance program including college counseling, throughout high school
  • Teaming with community members and organizations building a small school environment with the supportive relationships essential to educational success.

History

NP 3 is the work of local educators and institutions of higher education. University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and University of the Pacific, Bernard School of Education have teamed up with Natomas Unified School district to provide students with a public education, focusing on the skills necessary to succeed in higher education. The partnership has created a unique public charter school where students receive a rigorous and relevant education while building key relationships for success in later life.

Structure

Natomas Pacific Pathways is a public charter school. This means families choose to send their students to NP 3. Success in the program requires a commitment to the mission of the program and the values needed to become an educated, well-rounded citizen.

NP 3 is a public charter school, which gives it some freedom in developing its own academic policies and program. However, NP 3 is accountable for educational standards to Natomas Unified School District and the State of California.

The small school structure of the school provides students with more individualized attention and the opportunity to build educational relationships with the faculty at NP 3.

Service

NP 3 is committed to serving students in the greater Sacramento area. The nature of a charter school allows NP 3 to welcome students not only from the Natomas Unified School District, but also other students interested in participating in the program. The school is committed to serving a diverse population, providing students with exemplary educational and co-curricular programs, and ensure everyone the opportunity to succeed.

Faculty

NP 3’s brings an experienced faculty to the community. This allows the school to provide individualized college counseling, a variety of Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and specialized extra-curricular activities designed to enhance learning.
