Introducing NP3
Who are those guys?
The University of the Pacific and the Natomas Pathways Prep Charter School are members of a national consortium of schools of law, education and liberal arts and sciences and P-12 educators committed to increasing college-going opportunities among racially and socio-economically diverse students. This P-20 consortium began in 2003, with UOP McGeorge School of Law Dean Elizabeth Parker as the driving force.
What is Natomas-Pacific Pathways Prep?
Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep is a charter school that will be located in the Natomas community to educate students in grades 9-12 in both the Natomas and the greater Sacramento region.
What is the attraction of this new charter school?
NP 3 operates in partnership with the University of the Pacific, especially its McGeorge School of Law. It will offer theme-based academic courses and co-curricular activities. For its initial year, the school will offer a law and public service-themed program. As the school evolves, NP 3 will expand its themes into other areas in which the University of the Pacific is expert, such as education, pharmacy, dentistry, engineering, and international studies.
Who can attend NP 3?
Any student in grades 9-12 may apply to attend. NP 3 is committed to a diverse student population,—at least reflective of the diversity in the district and the Sacramento metro area.
Will transportation be provided?
Transportation is available for students living within the Natomas district; families register with the Transportation Services department of NUSD for this service, just as they would for Natomas or Inderkum High School. Limited transportation will be available for students living outside of the Natomas area.
What about students with special needs?
NP 3 is committed to serving all students including those in special education and English language acquisition programs.
